Basic Biscotti Recipe

This basic biscotti recipe is just that, basic. Great for those that are looking for a base to add more to (nuts, fruits, etc) or those who have to avoid typical biscotti recipes because of nut allergies.

Basic Biscotti Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Basic Biscotti Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Beat together oil, sugar eggs, and vanilla. Then, beat in flour, baking powder and salt.
  3. Form dough into desired shape. Bake for 20-25 minutes. Remove loaf to cool 15 minutes. Reduce oven temperature to 300 degrees.
  4. Cut loaf into slices and place on baking sheet. Bake for 7-9 minutes on each side, checking often for crispness.
